A dinner with friends. A family photo you will keep for years. A trip you have been looking forward to. The holiday calendar can fill up quickly, and skincare often becomes one more thing to fit in.
A useful plan begins with the dates that matter to you, the skin concerns you want help with, and what feels realistic for your life. At Koru Wellness Aesthetics, the aim is to help you feel comfortable and like yourself as those moments arrive.
Start with your calendar
Bring more than the date of the main event. Include travel, photos, work commitments, and any days when you would rather avoid visible redness or other signs of recovery. Those details help shape a plan you can actually follow.
You do not need to arrive knowing which treatment to book. Tell us what you are noticing and what you hope to improve. A consultation is a chance to discuss your goals, medical history, current products, previous treatment experiences, and how much recovery time you can accommodate.
The next step may be a treatment, an adjustment to your routine, or giving your skin more time. Your schedule and comfort matter in that decision.
Leave room around the appointment
An appointment is only one part of the plan. Ask what preparation is needed, what recovery might look like, and whether follow-up would be helpful before you travel or attend an event.
There is no single “safe number of days” that applies to every person or procedure. Chemical peels vary in their preparation and healing time; some can involve peeling, redness or swelling. Fillers can cause bruising and swelling. Discuss the specific treatment and your own history with your clinician before choosing a date. Sources: Chemical peel guidance; Filler guidance.
If your calendar is already close to full, say so. It gives us a chance to talk through what is practical now and what could wait until after the holidays.
Keep the final stretch familiar
It can be tempting to try several new products when an event is approaching. Keep the basics steady: gentle cleansing, a moisturizer suited to your skin, and broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. A routine does not have to be complicated to be useful. Source: Everyday skincare basics.
If you want to introduce something new, ask how it fits with the products or prescriptions you already use and leave time to see how your skin responds. Avoid changing everything at once. If a product causes irritation, stop using it and seek advice when needed.
A short list for your consultation
Bring your important dates, a list or photos of your skincare products and medications, and notes about past reactions or treatments. Think about the one or two concerns that matter most to you. It is also helpful to know your budget and how much time you want to spend on your routine.
You can ask: What would you prioritize? What could wait? What should I expect afterward? Who should I contact if I have a question before my event?
