Consultations
Start With the Right Treatment
At Koru Wellness Aesthetics, we recommend a consultation before every new treatment. The purpose is to understand you first — then decide what, if anything, makes sense.
Why Consultation Matters
Patients often come to us with a particular treatment in mind, a concern they would like to improve, or simply questions about what options might be appropriate for them.
A consultation gives us the opportunity to look carefully at your skin or anatomy, understand what is bothering you, and talk through your goals before recommending a treatment plan.
During your consultation, we may consider your skin type and condition, facial anatomy and proportions, medical history and medications, previous treatments, expected results, downtime, timing, alternatives, and your own preferences.
Sometimes the treatment you have been considering is exactly what we recommend. Other times, there may be another option that is better suited to your goals, skin, anatomy, or tolerance for downtime.
Understanding Downtime & Expectations
The “best” treatment is not always the best treatment for you.
Some treatments may offer more visible correction but require several days of redness, peeling, swelling, bruising, or other visible recovery. Others may offer more gradual improvement with less interruption to daily life.
During your consultation, we discuss expected downtime, recovery, timing, and realistic results so you can choose an option that fits both your goals and your life.
What Happens During a Consultation?
- Review of your medical and treatment history
- Discussion of your goals and priorities
- Evaluation of your skin, facial anatomy, or treatment area
- Discussion of appropriate treatment options
- Review of expected benefits, limitations, downtime, recovery, and alternatives
- Development of a personalized treatment plan
Patients are encouraged to ask questions and understand their options before making a decision.
Botox New Patient Consultation
New patients who have previously received Botox or another neuromodulator elsewhere may choose our focused Botox New Patient Consultation. This appointment is designed for experienced neuromodulator patients who do not need a full introduction to treatment but still require evaluation before being treated at Koru.
A Consultation Does Not Mean You Need Treatment
A consultation is an opportunity to understand your options. It does not obligate you to proceed with treatment.
Sometimes our recommendation is to move forward. Sometimes it is to choose a different approach, wait until the timing is better, or simply say “not yet.” There are also times when Dr. Chin may recommend against a treatment altogether.
Many patients appreciate knowing that the goal of the consultation is not to sell a procedure, but to help them make a thoughtful, informed decision about what — if anything — is right for them.
